We are pleased to announce that Lamont Davis has been hired as Milwaukee CLT’s executive director. We had a lot of extraordinary applicants and thank everyone who applied.
A little about Lamont:
Lamont believes in hard work and in helping people and communities to be the best they can be. He is proud to have in his career risen from an unemployed job seeker to leading numerous programs at various organizations that empowered low income families to maintain their dignity and tenure in their homes. These experiences culminated in Lamont cofounding Community First a leading housing rehabilitation organization in the City of Milwaukee and serving as its Program Director for many years.
Lamont strongly believes that everyone deserves to live in the housing type of their choice.
That is why he is excited to serve as the first Executive Director of the Milwaukee Community Land Trust (MCLT), a nonprofit dedicated to providing permanent affordable home ownership. He believes truly affordable housing will produce better health outcomes , increased stability of the family and a transformation of the community at large. When families have safe and decent affordable housing, they can begin to live out their dreams. That is Lamont’s hope for all Milwaukeeans and the reason why he has joined the MCLT.
Lamont is the Board President of the Community Insurance Information Center and a Board member for the Washington Park NID #3 and United Methodist Children’s Services. He also serves on various neighborhood and homeownership committees including Take Root, Reclaiming Our Neighborhoods and the Community Development Alliance Project Team.
